Here is a 275 hp Jacobs powered Stearman. The owner Gary Gabbard purchased it after it had been flipped over on its back by the previous owner. He rebuilt the wings and located a new vertical fin and rudder.
We recovered it with Poly Fiber and painted the fabric with Poly Tone. The metal was painted with Randolphs Ranthane paint.
Next time we are going back to automotive paint on the metal. Easier to use and no buffing required.
Special thanks to my dad Don for all of his hard work.
The Jacobs engine has a Hamilton Standard 2B20 with -11 blades. We added a 21 gallon header tank in front of the front cockpit. We also moved the battery back to below the baggage compartment to compensate for the extra fuel weight up front.
